EXPERT Witness Services

ARI offers expert witness services for cases or potential litigation involving damage to archaeological resources. Expert witness testimony can be provided for all investigation and damage assessment operations carried out by ARI. Expert witness services, including testimony, also can be provided for investigation and damage assessment 0perations conducted by others and later analyzed and evaluated by ARI.

ARI also offers expert witness services for cases involving other types of violations. These services include expert witness testimony about all investigation operations carried out by ARI for these cases.

Expert Witness Experience

ARI archaeologist and owner Martin McAllister has substantial experience as an expert witness in archaeological violation cases. Mr. McAllister testified as an expert witness in the following cases:

  • U.S. versus Hunter, U.S. District Court, District of Utah, 1998
  • U.S. versus Baker, U.S. District Court, District of Arizona, 1985
  • U.S. versus Tidwell, Tidwell and Hoffman, U.S. District Court, District of Arizona, 1984
  • U.S. versus Wilda and Rahn, U.S. District Court, District of Arizona, 1982
  • U.S. versus Hancock, Brady and Morris, U.S. District Court, District of Arizona, 1980

ARI has access to the services of investigators who have extensive training and experience in courtroom testimony. They have testified on numerous occasions in federal, tribal and state courts. This experience includes testifying extensively before U.S. Magistrate Judges and in U.S. District Courts before federal judges and juries in a wide variety of criminal cases.
