ARI can provide consultation on methods that can be used to avoid impacts to archaeological resources on lands involved in timber harvesting and other forest management projects. If required, formal archaeological resource protection plans can be developed for these projects. These services can assist the industry in preventing lawsuits resulting from inadvertent impacts to archaeological resources caused by timber and other forest management projects.

ARI also can provide consultation on impacts to archaeological resources resulting from timber and other forest management projects. This consultation will identify and plan potential responses to these impacts. The responses may include: 1) attempting to determine how and why the impacts to archaeological resources occurred and how such impacts can be avoided in the future; 2) fully documenting the damage to archaeological resources resulting from the impacts; 3) developing monetary value determinations for the damage as a measure of the severity of harm; and 4) preparing for any litigation that may result from the impacts to archaeological resources.
